Stuttgart/Kennelbach. Ski legend Aksel Lund Svindal and Porsche Chief Designer Michael Mauer have been searching for the perfect line together since 2021 - in Porsche cars and in skiing. The result: a new freeride ski developed by Porsche and HEAD, the PORSCHE | HEAD 106 Series - the ski for the perfect line and the TIME:OUT off-piste that is so important to both.

Mauer & Svindal and their long-cherished dream
Porsche chief designer Michael Mauer and skiing legend Aksel Lund Svindal not only share a love of skiing, motorsport, design and performance, but also a longing for something special. Both are always in search of the perfect line. With the PORSCHE | HEAD 106 Series, they are continuing their unique synergy and realising a long-cherished dream: together, the two masters of their trade developed and designed an unprecedented freeride ski that incorporates all their expertise. A ski that optimally combines the know-how from automobile and ski construction. The PORSCHE | HEAD 106 Series is therefore the perfect ski for all freeriders.

TIME:OUT – time out away from the piste
In close collaboration with Porsche and HEAD, a work of art was created on snow that not only represents the perfect line. The ski also conveys a feeling of freedom and shared passion with every single turn, and TIME:OUT plays a decisive role in this. “Breaks are extremely important in the creative process,” says Michael Mauer, Head of Style Porsche. “Creativity thrives on impressions and impulses, a conscious counterbalance to everyday life. I like to spend a lot of time in the mountains. These breaks give me the necessary distance and help me to sort out ideas.”

In the same way, Aksel Lund Svindal has more time for peace and quiet after his active career. “We both like to take our time out away from the piste, skiing powder, in remote places, without much technical equipment and on our own,” explains Aksel Lund Svindal. With the PORSCHE | HEAD 106 Series, they have an agile, versatile and playful free-ride ski at their side that combines a unique feeling for them: perfection in theory and reality.

Unique construction & exclusive design
HEAD has used the sustainable materials rattan and flax for the first time in this limited edition in exclusive Porsche colours. Natural fibres, which are produced in agriculture without conflicting with food cultivation, are also used by Porsche in racing. For example, in the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport MR, which competed in the 24 Hours of Nürburgring. Natural fibres have an ecological advantage over conventional plastics: 85 percent less CO2 is generated during the production of the fibres than in the comparable process for carbon fibres. The PORSCHE | HEAD 106 Series has no top sheet, allowing a view of its interior, revealing the natural fibres used and thus creating a fascinating combination of aesthetics and technology. With its innovative construction and sporty design, the ski is the perfect line – on and off the piste.

Designed in Austria, the ski is available in lengths of 184 and 177 cm. In the 184 cm length, the ski has a sidecut of 131 – 106 – 127 mm and a radius of 17.8 metres. The non-binding retail price of the PORSCHE | HEAD 106 Series is 1,700 euros.
